Llanengan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Llanengan is a small village 2 km south west of Abersoch in Gwynedd in Wales. In its center is the Church of St. Einion, one of the oldest churches in the Llŷn Peninsula. Another magnificent rood screen in Llangan Uchaf in Monmouthshire(Gwent) is a rare survival of a painted screen, probably dismantled at the time of the reformation, reassembled during Mary's reign and then the process repeated in the Cromwell period. As a result some of the wood work has been put back in the wrong place. Also to be seen is a a magnificent stone carving of a Green Man head just in side the chancel behind the screen. If you visit the church make sure you proceed past the Victorian church for 400 metres to find Llangan Uchaf
