Little Oberon

Little Oberon was a 2005 telemovie starring Sigrid Thornton .

The movie was filmed during 2004 in and around Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Brittany Byrnes, Tasma Walton and Peter Rowsthorn also starred.

This tele-movie is about Georgie Green (Tasma Walton) and her daughter Natasha (Brittany Byrnes) going to visit Georgie's mother (Sigrid Thornton) who is dying of cancer. Natasha tries to find out the identity of her father and begins to have visions of a young friend of her mother who disappeared 16 years before. With Georgie being a witch (Wicca) and family tensions being rampant there are several settling in problems when they decide to stay for a while.

Trivia:

  • Sigrid Thornton shaved her head. She said wearing a bald cap would be disrespectful to cancer patients.
  • Brittany Byrnes was nominated for a AFI Award for her role in Little Oberon.

There is now a soundtrack available with the main theme and Season of a Witch on it. There is also talk of a series being made.
