The following is a list of characters featured in the American animated television series The Simpsons.

Characters are only listed once, normally under the first applicable subsection in the list; very minor characters are listed with a more regular character they are associated with. Voice actors, if applicable, are listed in parentheses after the character's name, followed by the characters first appearance in the show. Though characters from Halloween episodes are included, these episodes do not form part of the show's continuity; characters only featured in one of these episodes do not inhabit the Springfield of the other shows. Subsections are ordered by size and ongoing relevance to the show.
