This is the complete list of Olympic medalists in men's cross-country skiing from 1924 to 2006.

This event was skiied over an 18 km distance from 1924 to 1952.
The 50 km event for men is one of eleven events that has been in every Winter Olympic Games.
This event ran from 1992 to 1998 to replace the 15 km event before it was replaced by the 15 km event for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

This event ran from 1956 to 2002 and was replaced by a 30 km double pursuit (15 km classical + 15 km freestyle) for the 2006 Winter Olympics.
1992-8: 10 km classical interval start + 15 km freestyle pursuit, run on separate days.
2002: 10 km classical interval start + 10 km freestyle pursuit, run later on same day.
2006: 15 km classical mass start, exchange boots, skis, and poles; then 15 km freestyle, run immediately after on same day.
