Lionel Lewis (born 16 December 1982) is a Singaporean footballer.

A police officer by profession, he is a goalkeeper for the Home United FC (which is affiliated to Singapore Police Force) in the current season. Prior to that, he played for Geylang United FC.

A graduate of Nanyang Polytechnic, Lewis later studied at Novation Business School in 2005. He graduated with an advanced diploma certificate in Sports and Leisure management. He later went on to represent the Singapore national team in the Tiger Cup, South-east Asia's premier football tournament. Singapore were cast as underdogs with no hope of getting into the semi-finals, let alone win the tournament. However, much to the surprise of many Singaporeans, the team beat the odds to win the tournament. Lewis was awarded the MVP award for his performance during the Cup.

While playing for Singapore in the 2006 King's Cup against Thailand, he was knocked unconscious after a horrific clash with Thai forward, Kiatisuk Senamuang. Post-match medical report indicated that the injury was not serious.

At the AFC Awards 2006, he was the only goalkeeper nominated for the Asian Footballer of the Year award.

A teenage Lionel Lewis was touted by former Singapore coach Vincent Subramaniam as a future international, and the lanky keeper has fulfilled those expectations with his progression into the senior squad.

One of an outstanding trio of keepers - the others being Shahril Jantan and Hassan Sunny - that have turned out for Geylang United, Lionel has plenty of international experience despite his young years.

After starting his career at Geylang, Lionel became part of the first Young Lions side to play in the S.League in 2003. In August 2004, the police regular joined Home United on a short-term contract and played for the Protectors in their AFC Cup campaign, before returning to the Young Lions. He is now currently with the Home United.

Lionel was quoted as saying in The New Paper that he is attached to a Singaporean air stewardess named Jenny.[citation needed]
