David Lichens

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

David Lichens (born in Portland, Oregon) is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter.

Lichens is the son of a notable jazz guitarist, which exposed him to the music scene from an early age. He started playing the piano when he was very young. When he was 9 years old, his parents bought him an electric guitar and he committed himself to learn. His father taught him how to work the instrument and he developed his sense for music from there on.

As he continued to perfect his musicianship and songwriting, Lichens moved to Nashville to pursue his own career. In 1995 he joined legendary Christian rock band Petra which exposed him to lots of worldwide touring experience. Unfortunately, in 1997 he was fired due to musical differences with the other members.

Lichens then moved to Los Angeles and had a short stint fronting rock band Revolver. Later, one of his demos caught the attention of EMI Publishing. He is currently working in the release of his first EP album titled Drowning In Blue Sunshine.

Lichens' single "Let Go" was featured on the movie soundtrack "She's The Man."
