The Lashings World XI is a famous cricket team, founded by David Folb. It was originally formed in 1984 as a scratch team, and grew from an unremarkable English local club cricket team into, as it bills itself, the "World’s greatest cricket club".

Based in Maidstone, Kent, the team has attracted a string of famous international cricketers to its ranks, starting with Richie Richardson, and including Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Aravinda De Silva, Tatenda Taibu, Chris Cairns, Gordon Greenidge, Jimmy Adams, Henry Olonga, Courtney Walsh, Allan Donald, Shoaib Akhtar and even the great Sir Viv Richards. Its most unusual "capture" was former English women's cricket team captain, Clare Connor. Sachin Tendulkar, Ajit Agarkar and Colin Walker are its recent high-profile players [1]. They travel across the country playing in a variety of venues against schools and club teams to promote the game of cricket.
