LUGNET (also known as The Lego Users Group Network), is one of the largest online Lego-oriented communities.

Contents

Adult Fans of Lego (AFOLs) discuss Lego-related issues and post about creations using its NNTP/e-mail/web forums. LUGNET members can track their sets, build web pages, rate postings and create polls. The website also features a database of Lego sets and provides links to other major Lego sites.

The LUGNET Plan document states: To enrich the online experience for the LEGO enthusiast in a growing number of new ways. LUGNET is overseen by two admins: Gereon Stein and Rene Hoffmeister. Community members David Eaton and Dan Boger also have admin permissions on the site and assist Gereon and Rene.

There are four general divisions of LUGNET:

  • General
  • Market
  • Regional
  • Themes

General is where users announce their creations, talk about issues, discuss CAD, review sets, and much else. This is the center of LUGNET activity.

This is where people from the same organizations and areas meet. The main international organizations are the International Lego Train Club Organization, 1000steine.de, Eurobricks.com, and Classic-Castle.com.

The themes range from Adventurers to Western, with everything in-between. Themes such as Castle, Town, Train, & especially Space are very active, while those such as Football (soccer in USA) or Fabuland are less active. Until recently Space was more active until the opening of Classic-Space Forum
