Ken Andrews

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ken Andrews, born Kenneth Andrew Doty, is an American musician, mixer, and producer. He was the lead singer, guitarist, and co-writer in the rock band Failure. Between Failure's Magnified and Fantastic Planet albums, Andrews played in Replicants, a cover band side-project including members of Tool and Failure. He released solo music under the moniker ON from 1999-2003 and also fronted the band Year of the Rabbit in 2003.

On March 13, 2007, Andrews released his new solo album under his own name. 'Secrets of the Lost Satellite' is in stores courtesy of Ken's label, Dinosaur Fight Records. According to Ken's web site, he is on tour in March and April in support of 'Secrets of the Lost Satellite' with the opening band, First Wave Hello, who will also serve as his backing band.

Apart from his work as a musician, Andrews has also mixed and produced many albums, working with artists such as A Perfect Circle, Tenacious D, Charlotte Martin (to whom he is now married), Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Abandoned Pools, Bullets and Octane, 5th PROJEKT, and Mae. He also produced the JamisonParker album, called Sleepwalker, in 2005.

Andrews is often credited for directing Tool's "Hush" music video. This is incorrect. He edited their "Prison Sex" music video.
