John Norman McKay, PC, MP (born March 21, 1948) is a lawyer and a Liberal Canadian politician. As of 2006 he is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Scarborough—Guildwood. McKay was formerly the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance while the Liberal party governed, but now serves as an opposition MP.

Born in Toronto, McKay has lived most of his life in Scarborough, Ontario. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto at Scarborough and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Queen’s University. He is a member of Spring Garden Baptist Church in Toronto.[1]

After practising private law for a number of years, he was elected to represent Scarborough East in 1997 and reelected in 2000. He was elected to represent the riding of Scarborough—Guildwood in 2004. He is known to be among the most socially conservative members of his party; in particular, he strongly opposed same-sex marriage. He was re-elected by a wide margin in 2006.
