Jenny Wright

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jenny Wright (born 23rd March 1962 in New York, USA) was an actress whose career began with an appearance in Pink Floyd The Wall in 1982, playing an American groupie.

Other small roles followed soon after, but they were small and television and film work was sporadic. In the mid 1980s Wright was offered roles in both The Wild Life as Eileen, and St. Elmo's Fire as Felicia, increasing her profile. However, she never became recognised as a member of the now-legendary 1980's Bratpack. She also starred with Anthony Michael Hall, a bratpacker, in the 1986 thriller film Out of Bounds.

Wright continued to appear in many movies into the late 1980s and on through the 1990s. Arguably her most famous (or infamous) role saw her portraying "Mae", the denim-clad vampire in the 1987 cult horror classic Near Dark, which also starred Adrian Pasdar and Lance Henriksen. Fame and major celebrity eluded Wright as the offered roles following Near Dark became increasingly smaller. She did have a reasonably modest part in 1992's The Lawnmower Man and a cameo in Young Guns II in 1990.

Wright's last movie to date was playing little Natalie's mother in Enchanted (1998).

She had a romantic relationship with actor Nicolas Cage, which has since ended.
