Jay DeMarcus

Jay DeMarcus (born Stanley Wayne DeMarcus, Jr. on April 26, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio) is the bassist and a harmony vocalist in the American country pop trio Rascal Flatts. His second cousin, Gary LeVox, is also in the group.

Jay attended Lee College (now Lee University) in Cleveland, Tennessee from 1990-1993. At the time, he traveled and performed as a keyboardist in the Christian music group New Harvest, led by Danny Murray. Later, DeMarcus became a member of another Christian music group, called East to West.

On May 15, 2004, DeMarcus is married to Allison Alderson, a former beauty queen who has held the titles Miss Tennessee 1999 and Miss Tennessee USA 2002. DeMarcus met her on the set of the video for the Flatts' song "These Days".

  • In addition to the bass guitar, DeMarcus plays piano, guitar, and drums.
