Jason's

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jason's (Jason&Son) was a snooker club in Ranelagh, Dublin, Ireland. Jason's was famous for two things:

  • 'The General', Martin Cahill, 'played snooker' there;
  • more notably that 1997 Embassy World Professional Snooker Champion Ken Doherty, played and practiced there.

It is situated on Ranelagh road across from 'The Triangle'. On 7th of September 2005, a sign was hung on the door saying 'closed until further notice'. It is believed that the club may now be sold off and a Lidl be opened up in its place. At the time of writing(end of 2006 World Championships) the club has not been renovated in anyway and Ken Doherty still retains a key and practices there.
