Jair Ohmsford is a character from the Shannara series by Terry Brooks.

He is the son of Wil Ohmsford, and as such carries the power of the wishsong. He is described as having his mother Eretria's fiery temper. Unlike his sister Brin Ohmsford, however, Jair can only create illusion with his magic. Though left behind by Brin, Rone Leah, and Allanon when they departed, Jair set out on his own quest for the Maelmord. After receiving charges from the King of the Silver River, Jair found himself surrounded by a company of allies: the Gnome Tracker Slanter, who grew to be Jair's close friend; Garet Jax, a legendary Weapons Master; Elb Foraker, a hardened Dwarf veteran; Edain Elessedil, Prince of the Elves; and finally Helt, a Borderman with night vision.

Despite several bad incidents, including Gnomes and the appearance of an evil Mwellret, the company made it to the Ravenshorn, home of the Mord Wraiths. However, it was their that all of the company except Jair and Slanter met their ends: Garet Jax at the hands of the evil Jachyra, Foraker and Edain injured and overrun, and Helt poisoned and trapped by Gnomes. Jair was able to purify the Silver River and to save his sister from the influence of the Ildatch. Jair then returned home with his sister and said goodbye to Slanter.

Jair's bloodline would continue even beyond Brin's, giving rise to Par Ohmsford, Coll Ohmsford, Wren Elessedil, Bek Ohmsford, Grianne Ohmsford, Ahren Elessedil, and most recently Pen Ohmsford and Khyber Elessedil.
