Ithaka (musician)

Ithaka is the professional name of hip hop artist, sculptor, artistic photographer and prose writer Darin Pappas.

Pappas was born in California, but later established himself in Tokyo, then Lisbon and finally Rio de Janeiro. In Lisbon he recorded his first two hip hop albums under the name Ithaka, Flowers and the Color of Paint and Stellafly. His song, "Escape From The City Of Angels" appeared on the soundtrack for Columbia Pictures' feature release, The Replacement Killers. Under the name Korvowrong, Pappas was also the lyricist/vocalist on the track "So Get Up" by Underground Sound Of Lisbon.

In Rio, he returned to recording, releasing three more albums. He also renewed a partnership with former USL member DJ Vibe, providing vocals for the track "You". In addition to creating music, he also writes short stories for the surf magazine Water.
