Isumi (いすみ市; -shi) is a city in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
The city emerged on December 5, 2005 when the town of Isumi (夷隅町; -machi), Misaki and Ohara from Isumi District merged to form the city of Isumi (いすみ市; -shi).
As of 2003, the former town had an estimated population of 7,761 and a density of 175.47 persons per km². The total area was 44.23 km².
As of November 1, 2005 the new city of Isumi has a population of 42,835 in an expanded area of 157,50 km².
