Cebu Institute of Medicine (commonly referred to as CIM and Velez) is a medical school in Cebu City, the Philippines. It was founded in 1957.

It is one of the five recognized Centers of Excellence in the Philippines, and recently adopted the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Method. Its over-all passing percentage in the Philippine Medical Board Examination is 95.37% from 1994-1998 and 100% in the February 2007 Examination.

Mission: To produce graduates who are professionally competent, socially concerned and guided by a correct conscience in all their actions.

General Objective: To provide quality medical education relevant to the needs of the country.

The Cebu Institute of Medicine is a non-stock, non-profit institution established in June 1957, then known as Cebu Institute of Technology, College of Medicine (CIT - College of Medicine). Its pioneering class of 33 students graduated in 1962 from the then five-year curriculum.

In 1966, CIT - College of Medicine became an affiliate of Velez College under a new name - Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM).

From its initial graduates of 33 students in 1962, CIM since then to 2005 has produced 4696 graduates. Of these graduates 35 were with honors and 110 were board topnotchers.

In February 1987, CIM was classified by the Board o­n Medical Education as Level IV, the highest category for medical institutions. In April 1996, the Commission o­n Higher Education has identified CIM as o­ne of the three Center of Excellence for Medicine. The Commission o­n Higher Education has granted CIM an autonomous status in September 2001.
