I'll Do Anything is a 1994 comedy-drama film, starring Nick Nolte and Albert Brooks, about a down-on-his-luck actor suddenly in charge of his six year old daughter. It was originally conceived and shot as a musical (with some songs written by Prince).

The test audience's reactions to the music were so overwhelmingly negative, that all production numbers from the film were cut. One of the original songs meant to be performed in the film appears under the closing credits. While other versions of songs penned by Prince resurfaced on one of his later projects (The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale), none of the performances from the movie were ever released.

James L. Brooks mentioned in early 2005 that he would like to release the "Directors Cut" including the music and a documentary, however a lack of musical rights prevents such a thing from happening.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Matt Hobbs is a hardly working actor who finds himself raising his precocious six year old daughter Jeannie after her mother Beth is sent away to prison. Since Matt now has to support a daughter, he has to develop regular working habits. He takes a job as a chauffeur for a William Castle-inspired schlockmeister named Burke Adler. As Adler develops a relationship with divorced testmarketing researcher Nan Mulhanney, Matt becomes romantically attached to beautiful development executive Cathy Breslow.
