Hunter Tylo

Hunter Tylo (born Deborah Hunter on July 3, 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas) is an American actress of half Cherokee descent.
With a love for animals, Hunter began studies at Fordham University in pre-med in the hopes of a career in veterinary medicine. Making many commercials in New York to pay tuition, Hunter transitioned to a career in the entertainment industry. Taking a leave from school, she began her career in acting. She debuted on All My Children as pickpocket Robin McCall in 1985, meeting her future husband Michael Tylo. She left the show in 1987 and married Michael that same year.
She played Marina Toscano on Days of Our Lives, then shortly thereafter joined the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful, playing Dr. Taylor Hayes, in 1989. This would be Hunter's most famous role to date. Hunter has left the show a few times to pursue other projects on The Hallmark Channel, Sci-Fi Channel and Lifetime. However, Hunter has remained a mainstay of The Bold and The Beautiful and will soon be finishing up a storyline opposite Jack Wagner, who is best known from Melrose Place and his singing career.
Hunter is the founder of her charity Hunter's Chosen Child [Hunterschosenchild.com] helping women who find themselves pregnant and financially challenged. After her youngest daughter Katya survived retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the retina, she also helped found Retinoblastoma International. She also worked to have the AB2185 bill enacted in California, ensuring that babies get their eyes checked as part of the routine six-week health exam.
In November 2005, Hunter announced that she and her husband, Michael, were going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage.
Hunter had the following to say about the split-up: "I certainly don't believe in divorce, but there are situations where sometimes certain healings need to take place and they can't do that unless there's distance."[citation needed]
Hunter remains a dedicated mother, actress and philanthropist and is seen in over 102 countries as Taylor Hayes.
