The Humboldt Prize is an award given by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to internationally renowned scientists and consists of between € 65.000 - € 480.000 with the possibility of further support during the prize winner's life. It is named after the late Prussian naturalist and explorer Alexander von Humboldt. One of its most renowned winners is the Greek-German philosopher and historian of ideas Panagiotis Kondylis, author of Die Aufklärung, Macht und Entscheidung and several other influential studies.
