Crazy Horoscopes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Crazy Horoscopes is a spoof Astrology website run by an outrageous young British animator and make-up artist from West Yorkshire. The site is especially popular amongst females, who visit on a daily basis to read bizarre and surreal horoscopes and articles written in the author's unique and outrageous style.

Originally started in late 2004, the site became an instant success within 3 days of its initial launch. Although its official start date was on the 1st of December 2004, its origins can be traced back to a personal online blog called "Nevermind the bollocks: Here's The Secret Diary of a Goblin Prince", which was hosted by journalspace.com. The author would often write surreal, but entertaining blog entries, including outrageous horoscopes on a few occasions. It was the popularity of these horoscopes which initially sparked off the idea for a website devoted to astrology based comedy. In October 2005, the original blog was transferred from journalspace to Crazy Horoscopes, where it is still being updated along with the main site.
A mobile version of the site was launched in October 2005, for cellphone and PDA users. Despite being a spoof site, it is currently ranked within the top 10 search results on Google Mobile for the term "horoscopes", ironically putting it well ahead of many "official" astrologers, also attempting to jump on the handheld bandwagon.
Since its launch, Crazy Horoscopes has been the target of controversy from hardcore astrology fans and serious astrologers alike, due to its alleged mockery and ridicule of astrological theory and principals. The site author has repeatedly denied these allegations, and claims he respects astrologers and that his site brings out the "lighter side of something which is supposed to be a bit of fun anyway". Crazy Horoscopes has also been under fire for allegedly being sexist and anti-male due to the one-line "guy jokes" and some of the content within the astrology love match reports. The site creator himself has been accused of being a fraud, despite his open declaration where he clearly states he is not a real astrologer.
