Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service| for the county of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. In December 2005, the FRS dealt with what is thought to be the largest fire since World War II following an explosion at the Buncefield oil dept.

During the June/July 2007 floods in South Yorkshire , Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service sent out a crew from Welwyn Garden City to aid South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service[1] in pumping out water from the Ulley Resevoir near to Rotherham the Hertfordshire FRS provided one High Volume Pump to complete the job as well as helping out in a number of towns and villages including: Rotherham, Barnsley, Bentley and Toll Bar, and on the outskirts of Doncaster. The FRS motto is "Working to protect, acting to save.
