Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush is a British film made in 1967 based on the novel of the same name by Hunter Davies

The film starred Barry Evans, Judy Geeson and Angela Scoular and was directed by Clive Donner.

The film's title track was written by Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi and performed by Traffic. Winwood's previous group the Spencer Davis Group made a cameo appearance in the film. Andy Ellison also appears in the film with his song It's Been A Long Time.

The location for the film was the Hertfordshire new town of Stevenage.

The phrase is also the first line of a popular nursery tune. The tune is similar to that of the Christmas carol I Saw Three Ships.

The words to the first verse are:

Here we go round the mulberry bush,
The mulberry bush,
The mulberry bush.
Here we go round the mulberry bush
So early in the morning.

The song derives from prisoners at HMP Wakefield being sent to walk round a Mulberry Bush.
