Heaven's Prisoners

Heaven's Prisoners is a 1996 motion picture starring Alec Baldwin, Kelly Lynch, Mary Stuart Masterson, Teri Hatcher and Eric Roberts. It is based on a Dave Robicheaux novel of the same name by James Lee Burke. The film was directed by Phil Joanou. Harley Peyton and Scott Frank are credited with penning the screenplay.

Ex-Homicide detective Dave Robicheaux lives a quiet life in the swamplands of Louisiana with his wife Annie. His tranquility is shattered one day when the couple stumbles upon a drug smuggler's airplane crash in the bayou. Dave succeeds in rescuing a lone survivor, an El Salvadoran girl, who Dave takes him with him. With the arrival of the DEA and an inherent connection to Bubba Rocque, the leading pharmaceutical drug kingpin in the area and Dave's childhood friend, Dave finds himself and his family in danger.
