Harvard University Press

The Harvard University Press is a publishing house, a division of Harvard University, that is highly respected in academic publishing. It was established on January 13, 1913. In 2005, it published 220 new titles. It is a member of the Association of American University Presses (AAUP). The current director is William P. Sisler and the editor-in-chief is Michael G. Fisher.
The press maintains offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts, near Harvard Square, and in London, England, as well as a Display Room in Harvard Square dedicated to selling HUP publications.
Notable HUP authors include Eudora Welty, Walter Benjamin, E. O. Wilson, John Rawls, Emily Dickinson, Stephen Jay Gould, Helen Vendler, and Carol Gilligan.
It owns the Belknap imprint and distributes the Loeb Classical Library and I Tatti Renaissance Library series.
The Harvard University Press has lent its name to the Harvard comma, because the house manual of style favors its use.
