Hambantota

Hambantota is a town in southern coastal area of Sri Lanka. It is also the capital of the district Hambantota in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Hambantota is the electoral district of current president of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa. Hambanthita District: Weerakatiya, Kaluwagasyaya, Kaluwagahayaya, Gonadeniya, Okandayaya, Mamadala are some villages in Hambanthota. Hambantota consists of a large number of Sri Lankan Malay people.
Hambantota is famous for its salt flats and intensely hot arid zone climate.
