Granite State College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Granite State College is an institution of the University System of New Hampshire. The College provides flexibility, value and state-wide accessibility to higher education throughout New Hampshire.

Founded in 1972, and headquartered in Concord, the college is designed for adult learners who seek alternatives to traditional campus-based programs.

For more than 30 years, the college has specialized in teaching adults of all ages. New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accredited the college and it serves over 4,000 students each year.

Because the College is an institution that serves learners where they live and work, Granite State College operates a network of nine statewide learning centers, and courses are offered at more than 40 additional community sites, as well as online.

The college offers tailor-made academic programs and courses, and a range of learner services, all designed with non-traditional students in mind.

Granite State College offers an array of bachelor's and associate degree options and certificates, along with off-campus access to Plymouth State University graduate degrees. Courses are available in the evenings, on weekends, during the day, and online.

Empire State College, in New York, and Charter Oak State College, in Connecticut, offer programs for adult learners utilizing a method similar to Granite State College.
