God Grew Tired of Us is a documentary film about three "Lost Boys of Sudan" directed by Christopher Dillon Quinn and co-directed by Tom Walker.

God Grew Tired of Us chronicles the arduous journey of three young Sudanese men - John, Daniel and Panther - in the strange new world of America and how they strive towards a brighter future. As young boys in the 1980s, John, Daniel, and Panther walked a thousand miles to escape their war-ridden homeland of Sudan, and then had to make another arduous journey to escape Ethiopia. They are among over 25,000 boys, who came to be known as the Lost Boys.

During the five years they walked in search of safety, thousands died from starvation, dehydration, bomb raids and genocidal murder. Finally, the lost boys found relative safety in Kenya’s Kakuma refugee camp. In 2001, John, Daniel and Panther were given an incredible opportunity. Along with 3,600 other lost boys, they were invited by the United States to live in America. Assisted by Catholic Charities International, John, Daniel and Panther uproot their lives and once again embark on another journey -- leaving behind thousands of other refugees who, in the course of their traumatic oddyssey have become their adopted extended family. They must now learn to adapt to the shock of being thrust into the economically intense culture of the United States. Learning new customs, adapting to new and strange foods, and coping with the ordeal of getting and keeping a job, or multiple jobs while never forgetting the loved ones they left behind in Africa, they set themselves to do whatever they can to help those they left behind in Kakuma, and to discover the fate of their parents and family.

At the 2006 Sundance Film Festival the film won both the "Grand Jury Prize: Documentary" and the "Audience Award" in the "Independent Film Competition: Documentary" category.

Newmarket Films has acquired the North American distribution rights with the plans for a late fall release in 2006.
