"Ghetto" is an R&B song written by American singer Kelly Rowland, Durrell "Tank" Babbs, Calvin Broadus, and J. "Lonny" Bereal for Rowland's second studio album Ms. Kelly (2007). It also was produced by Tank and features guest vocals by rapper Snoop Dogg. The song was released as the album's second single on August 7, 2007 in the North America, while "Work" will be released elsewhere.[2]
The music video for "Ghetto" was directed by Andrew Gura and shot on August 23, 2007 in Los Angeles, California. It world premiered at the end of the September 10, 2007 episode of BET's Access Granted.[3]
Ghetto went for radio adds in August 2007 and it was added by about 28 urban stations and very few rhythmic stations and the song charted on the bubbling under R&B/Hip-Hop chart at #9 which is equivalent to #109 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart the single so far has failed miserably in the US many fans were extremely disappointed that Rowland decided to go ahead and release "Ghetto" in place of "Comeback" stating that the latter was superior and it would have been a big hit
