Geike Arnaert (Heike) is the lead singer of the Belgian ambient-pop group Hooverphonic. She was born on September 13, 1979. She was raised in a small village in Flanders, North Belgium. She has three siblings. In her current hometown she likes hanging out with her friends and doing yoga, dancing and party-hopping. Her basic musical influences range from the Rolling Stones, the Doors, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Nirvana, Joni Mitchell, Portishead, Massive Attack, Cocteau Twins, and Blondie...She has a high-key personality (not sure what that means), but likes cooking and reading a good book as well. Geike is often described as a smart, sweet and open person despite her apparent coldness and ambiguity on stage, though she prefers keeping her private life far from the media. Geike has sung as a guest vocalist for Ozark Henry and various other artists. Recently she recorded a duet with singer-songwriter and entertainer Bobbejaan Schoepen, that will be released on his new album (autumn 2007).

Her plans to go solo are in works, but not confirmed. Currently she is recording the new Hooverphonic CD, that is planned to be released in autumn 2007.
