Freedom of Religion Bill

The Freedom of Religion Bill is a controversial bill passed by the Gujarat state assembly. The bill was passed in 2003. An amendment to the bill was passed on September 19, 2006 which bans the forced conversion from one religion to another. [1] The move has evoked strong protests from the state's Jain, Buddhist and Christian communities.[2] [3]
