Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) is a professional wrestling promotion based in Tampa, Florida. It is a "developmental territory"—analogous to a farm team—for the larger World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).[1] The promotion, in it's current form, was started by Steve Keirn in 2007[2] to be WWE's second developmental territory when they ended their relationship with the Georgia-based Deep South Wrestling.[3]

FCW's debut show was on June 26, 2007 at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, Florida, at which Harry Smith became the first ever FCW Southern Heavyweight Champion by winning a 21 man Battle Royal.[4] They currently run shows every Tuesday at Bourbon Street nightclub,[5] as well as spot shows on other nights at other venues in and around the Central Florida area, and will soon begin broadcasting it's own television program.[6]
