Fear Street

Fear Street is a series of teen horror books by R. L. Stine. The books, which take place in fictional Shadyside, a city whose size and social position can be compared to the city from Wishbone (TV series). located somewhere on the East Coast. Features average teenagers, older than the Goosebumps preteens, who encounter malignant, sometimes supernatural, adversaries.

In 1995, a series of books inspired by the Fear Street series, called Ghosts of Fear Street was created for younger readers.

R.L. Stine stopped writing Fear Street after penning the Fear Street Seniors spin-off in 1999. In summer 2005, he brought Fear Street back with the three-part Fear Street Nights miniseries. Fear Street books are highly capable of generating 1990s decade nostalgia.

The books in the Fear Street Saga were so popular that R.L. Stine brought the series back for seventeen more novels. These were tales about distant members of the Fear Family. Books #2, 4, 6, and 10 served as interquels/prequels to the Fear Street Saga, and #10 was a prequel to Fear Street Cheerleaders
