Farah Khan is an Indian film director although she is better known for her choreographical work.

She choreographed for the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, this was followed by many more dance hits. She met actor, Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, and they have been friends ever since.

She became an international-known talent when she choreographed Monsoon Wedding, Bombay Dreams and Vanity Fair. She was nominated for Broadway's 2004 Tony Award as Best Choreographer, along with collaborator Anthony Van Laast, for Bombay Dreams. She then directed her first film Main Hoon Na, produced by Shah Rukh Khan. The film was a huge hit and her direction was praised. She became the first ever female director to be nominated for Filmfare Best Director Award. She has won the Filmfare Best Choreography Award four times respectively (1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003)

She married her boyfriend and the editor of Main Hoon Na, Shrish Kunder on 9th December 2004, according to Hindu and Muslim rites. She has recently choreographed her husband's directorial debut, Jaaneman and good friend Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Other than that she has the international project, Marigold:An Adventure in India, Farhan Akhtar's Don and Rakesh Roshan's Krrish.

She trained Latin Sensation Shakira for a Bollywood version of her hit "Hips Don't Lie" for the MTV Video Music Awards on August 31st 2006, live in Radio City Music Hall.
