Eventine Elessedil is a character from The Sword of Shannara and The Elfstones of Shannara by Terry Brooks.

Eventine is one of the most beloved Elven Kings, surpassed perhaps only by Jerle Shannara. He is an ally to Allanon during the War of the Warlock Lord, acting to protect the Sword of Shannara. However, when a Gnome war party makes a break for the Northland with the Sword, Eventine engages them, and in the process is captured. He is later saved from the main Northland army camp by Flick Ohmsford, and watches the attack on Tyrsis from a distance while waiting for the Elven army.

Fifty years later, Eventine is still King of the Elves, and has had three sons: Arion Elessedil, Ander Elessedil, and Aine Elessedil. However, Aine is several years dead, and his grand daughter daughter Amberle has disgraced herself by refusing to serve as a Chosen. Eventine favors his eldest son, Arion, and leaves Ander to his own life. However, things change when the Ellcrys begins to die, thus releasing the Demons into the Four Lands. With the aid of Allanon and his son Ander, Eventine leads the war effort while Wil Ohmsford and Amberle attempt to revive the Ellcrys in a quest for the Bloodfire.

During the initial battle against the Demon horde, Eventine is wounded and knocked unconscious. Worse, his son Arion dies during battle, leaving Ander in a situation he never thought he'd be in. Eventine revives when the Elves return to Arborlon and sees hatred in the eyes of his loyal wolfhound, Manx. Disturbed and changed inside, Eventine returns to battle at Ander's side, only to be wounded again. This time, he awakens to find Manx, who has been replaced by a Changeling, about to attack him. Proving himself in one last battle, Eventine managed to deliver a mortal blow to the Demon before succumbing to his own and falling into a coma. He awakened one last time, just after the battle ended, and then fell asleep and did not wake up again.
