East Tremont, Bronx

East Tremont is a neighborhood located in the Bronx in New York City, centered at East Tremont Avenue and Southern Boulevard. It is bordered by Arthur Avenue on the north, Crotona Park on the south, Tremont on the west, and West Farms on the east. This neighborhood was once predominantly Italian until Robert Moses rammed the Cross Bronx Expressway through the area. It has been a low-income area with African-Americans and Hispanics ever since the infamous construction.
