Dollikins

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dollikins are toy dolls made by Uneeda. They originally came out in the 1950s as large Cissy-sized dolls. They were jointed at the wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. The bodies were hard plastic and the heads were vinyl with rooted hair. They came in a smaller size (about 15") which is harder to find. The original outfits on these dolls were sophisticated and the packaging was attractive.

They were made in the 1960s as 11" multi-jointed dolls in brightly-colored bodysuits with flowered sashes and plastic boots.

They were issued in England as Action Girl. These dolls were very similar to the US-issued dolls except that their eyes were side-glancing and their hair was different. The US dolls had a piece of hair on other side of the face pulled up into a bow on top of the head. The Action Girl dolls had straight hair with no bows. The Action Girl dolls also had their own line of clothing.

They also came out as a special Grants doll called Donna. These dolls had curly hair pulled to one side. They were also issued in a Dawn doll-size.
