Delaware North Companies is one of the largest privately held companies in the world, operating in the food service, retail and hospitality industries in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It currently has over 40,000 employees worldwide. Delaware North Companies, Inc. is one of the world's leading hospitality and food service providers. Its family of companies is in industries ranging from global sports stadia and arenas, national and state parks, global airports, worldwide visitor attractions, gaming and entertainment destinations and destination restaurants and retail locations. Its family of companies includes Delaware North Companies Gaming & Entertainment, Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts, Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, Delaware North Companies Sportservice, Delaware North Companies International, TD Banknorth Garden and American Park N Swap. Delaware North is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States with annual revenues approaching $2 billion and 40,000 associates serving half a billion customers in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.The company is owned by Jeremy Jacobs, one of the most influential people in the sports industry and owner of the Boston Bruins and the arena in which the team plays, the TD Banknorth Garden, as well as a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. Over the years the company has won numerous awards for its commitment to the environment,its work at Kennedy Space Center and its commitment to its employees, including being listed as one of AARP's Top Employers of People over 50, as well as Sports Business Journal's top diversity employer.

Delaware North companies places a "bid" to run state parks. When a bid is won, the company gets to operate that venue. Such recent venues would be "Parks and resorts," Which runs such places like Yosemite national Park, Asilomar Conference Grounds in Monterey, The Balsams in New Hamsphere, Sequioa National Park, Geneva Conference Grounds, St. Marys lodge in Glacier, and also own and operates Tenaya Lodge near Yosemite and Harrison Hot springs in Canada. Delaware North tries hard to preserve these national parks by enacting a system called "Green Path." And the reservations office for most of these reservations is in Fresno, Ca. The agents there are welcoming due to the exessive training they went threw. Such training is called "Guest path."

In 2003 it won the Environmental Achievement Award from the US Department of the Interior. In 2002 it won the travel industerial association Odyessy Award In Envirmental Programs.
