Cumec
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cumec is a measure of flow rate.
One cumec is shorthand for cubic metre per second (35.3147 cubic feet per second): m3/s. Most commonly used in the measurement of water flow through natural streams and civil works. Continuing the informal usage, the plural form cumecs is also common.
Data in units of Cumec are used along the ordinate or vertical axis of a flow hydrograph, in which it measures the discharge of a river (mean velocity of water in the river multiplied by its cross-sectional area).
