Conscript troops were the main German forces of occupied France during WWII. Most were in the Normandy area during D-Day. These German soldiers were minimally trained "volunteers" from more than 7 different countries, including, Checkislovakia, Soviet Union, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, and Austria[citation needed].

In addition to the German occupation of France during World War II, some other military forces have on occasion used conscript troops at various times during the past several millennia[citation needed].
