Churchill China plc is a crockery manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent in the United Kingdom.
History of the Company
Churchill China can trace its origins back to 1795 and the foundation of its first factory in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. With over 200 years experience Churchill’s craftsmen have established a worldwide reputation for producing quality tableware and gifts, selling to over 50 countries worldwide.
The range of Churchill tableware is recognised for its unique English style and design with inherent strength and durability, perfect for any dining occasion. The Company also markets two more leading English brands, namely Queens and James Sadler.
Queens has a heritage of producing English fine bone china and supplies many leading stores throughout the world.In addition to its quintessentially English designs Queens enjoys a unique association with the Royal Horticultural Society, inspiring designs rich in English floral style.
James Sadler is an established purveyor of fine English collectable teapots and giftware with a history dating back to 1882. The chairman of the company is Stephen Roper, who along with his wife has been persuing Alton Towers over noise levels at their house, Farley House in Farley, whilst Churchill China has itself caused complaints from people living near the companys Tunstall High Street factory which operates 24hrs a day.[1]
