Chris Coyne is an Australian footballer currently playing for Luton Town football club and is the older brother of Jamie Coyne of Perth Glory.
Coyne started his career with Australian side Perth S.C. before a £150,000 move to England with West Ham United. He was part of the Hammers youth team that reached the FA Youth Cup final.
After only one appearance for West Ham, and unsuccessful loan spells at Brentford and Southend, Coyne moved to Dundee on a free transfer. Even there, it took him 4 months to break into the first team, and at the end of the season, Luton Town signed him for £50,000.
He has since established himself as Luton's first choice centre back, and is a big favourite with the fans. In the 2004-2005 season, Coyne was named in the PFA League One Team of the Season for his performances in helping Luton win League One. In addition, he was the deputy captain for that season, and now with the departure of former club captain Kevin Nicholls, it is widely expected Coyne be named Luton's new captain for the 2006-2007 season.
Chris also has a sister called Danielle as well as his previously mentioned brother Jamie, his father is called John. He is married to Rebecca and has two sons and one daughter.
