British Boxing Board of Control

The British Boxing Board of Control is the governing body of professional boxing in the United Kingdom. It was formed in 1929.

The Board is known for its unique scoring system. Except for world title fights (where the bout is scored by three judges, none of whom serve as fight referee), the referee is the sole scorer. After the bout, the referee will immediately go over to the winner and raise his hand.

Amateur boxing in the United Kingdom is run by the separate Amateur Boxing Association.
