Biocomposit
Biocomposit are composit materials usign reinforcement and/or resin from vegetal or animal origin. They are a combination with thermoplast or thermoset resin and bolster as powder, fibre, fabric and non-wooven. The required technologies are mainly injection and thermopress.
Biocomposit are carracterised by the fact that:
* the petrochemical resin is replaced by a vegetal or animal resin
and/or
* the bolsters (glass or carbon fibre or talc) are replaced by natural fibre (hemp, flax, sisal, jute...)
Those markets are significantly rising, mainly because of the increase in oil price, and recycling and environement necessities.
Exemple and photo of a sandwich biocomposit manufactured with a wood/fabric hemp matrix and 20% PU resine on http://daifa.fr/index.php?Page=71 at the ยง4. The resulted material combine high resistance and low weight, with bending module 9000MPa and a density 0,5 T/m3.
