Bintulu

Bintulu is a coastal town, and the capital of the Bintulu District (7,220.4 square kilometers) in the Bintulu Division of Sarawak, Malaysia. It is about 650 kilometers from Kuching and about 215 kilometers from either Sibu or Miri. The ethnic composition is primarily Iban, Chinese, Malay, Melanau and a large number of foreign workers with a population of over 100,000 covering an area of about 12,500 square kilometers.
In Bintulu, natural and luxuriant tropical rainforest is well conserved and preserved despite being a booming industrial centre brought about by the implementation of mammoth and multibillion ringgit industrial projects.
Above all, being a town geographically situated half way between Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu is a central gateway to tourist spots like Bakun Resort, Niah Caves, Mulu National Park, Longan Bunut National Park, Lambir National Park, Sibuti Wildlife Sanctuary, Rejang Pelagus, Belaga and the Bario Highlands.
Bintulu is easily accessible by air and road. The completion of the Pan-Borneo Highway has connected Bintulu by road to all major towns and places of interest in Sarawak. Bintulu have its new airport which can accommodate Boeing 747 aircrafts and more tourists.
