Binghamton Brigade
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Binghamton Brigade was a proposed professional indoor football team in the American Indoor Football League. The franchise was originally named the Binghamton Brigadiers. The team was scheduled to play at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, in Binghamton, New York.
The team was scheduled to begin play in the 2006 season and had a schedule declared, but insurance problems led the Brigade to be quietly folded before they played a single game. The AIFL replaced the Brigade with a proposed franchise in nearby Syracuse, New York called the Syracuse Soldiers, in 2006. That team, however, also folded.
The league had hopes to bring a team to Binghamton and/or nearby Elmira, New York in 2007; however, those plans have obviously fallen through.
