Bethlehem Governorate

The Bethlehem Governorate is one of 16 Governorates of the West Bank and Gaza Strip within the Palestinian Territories. It covers an area of the West Bank, south of Jerusalem. It's principal city is Bethlehem Municipality.

Its population was 132,090 according to the 1997 statistics.

According to the Bethlehem Municipality, the city has a total area of 575 km² (222.3 ). Of this area, 80 km² (30.8 ) in currently under the control of the Palestinian National Authority.[1]

The governorate consists of 10 municipalities, 3 refugee settlements, and 58 rural districts
