Bernie Bickerstaff

Bernie Bickerstaff (born November 2, 1944 in Benham, Kentucky) is the current Head Coach and General Manager of the Charlotte Bobcats. He also coached the Seattle SuperSonics, Denver Nuggets and Washington Bullets/Wizards. His total wins rank 33rd all-time amongst head coaches. He has served in numerous positions in the front office on these teams, including President,General Manager, and assistant coach.

A ten-year player, assistant coach, and head coach at the University of San Diego, Bickerstaff played for the Toreros from 1964–1966 and was team captain and MVP his senior season.

As of March 13, 2007, it has been reported that the part-owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, Michael Jordan, has stated that Bickerstaff will not be returning to the Bobcats for the 2008-2009 season, but would finish out the 2006-2007 season. Jordan stated that he hopes Bickerstaff stays with the organization in some capacity, but declined to say what posistion Bickerstaff may hold in the future.[1]
