From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Residents of Malayasia's Bandar Dato' Onn, Johor Land Berhad 's latest jewel in the crown, a freehold development which is planned with 17,800 properties worth RM3.58 billion, is set to emerge in the heart of Tebrau in Johor. Named after the late Dato' Onn bin Jaafar, the township has been launched officially by Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammudin Tun Hussein, the grandson of Dato' Onn.

The township strategically located along the Tebrau Corridor, would be well connected to the new state administrative centre of Nusajaya, Senai International Airport, North-South Expressway (NSE) and Johor Port. Dato' Onn Interchange, costing more than RM25 million has been officially launched by Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ibrahim Ismail Ibni Sultan Iskandar. The Interchange would provide easy access to other important venues in Iskandar Development Region and uniterrupted access to the North-South Expressway.

Located 12km from Johor Bahru, the 1,474-acre township of Bandar Dato' Onn will be self-contained city and home to more than 90,000 residents when completed. The masterplan for Bandar Dato' Onn has been vigilantly designed, in line with the company's mission to build thriving communities and create a comfortable harmonious and intergrated environment.

The development concept of Bandar Dato' Onn is intergrated between commercial and residential developments with public facilities and recreational parks. These components are linked through a linear park, with special attention given to landscaping works. Shady driveways, promenades and vistas have been created to provide a feeling of comfort and relaxation to residents and visitors alike.

The Township will be developed based on a neighbourhood concept with a total of 19 neighbourhoods. Every neighbourhood will have large green lungs complete with children's playgrounds and landscaped parks. To be developed in 10 to 15 years, the project will feature some 17,800 properties and is forecast to reap gross sales of RM3.58 billion, with a projected gross profit of RM920 million.

Johor Land Berhad also intends to carve out a 80- acre tract within the township for some 2,700 units of townhouses, apartments and condominiums that will cater to yuppie market. A regional commercial hub is also planned and this is expected to be the nerve centre of the township, and has it potential to be the new business centre of Johor Bahru.

The debut launch in February saw 181 units of 2-storey terraced homes put on the market. This is part of Phase 1, which will consist of about 600 units of terraced and semidee homes. The terraced homes are available in various layouts with built-ups raging from 1,609 sqft to 2,429 sqft and prices starting at RM177,650 onwards.
