Azercell Telecom is a mobile telecommunications company, located in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Azercell Telecom was established on January 19th 1996. The co-founders were Fintur Holdings B.V. and the Ministry of Communications of Azerbaijan Republic.

Azercell Telecom started its providing Azerbaijan with postpaid mobile telecommunications on December 15, 1996. In 1998, a prepaid system was launched with a tariff package "SimSim".

As being the leader of the market and very dynamic company it’s known as the trend setter in the mobile telecommunications market in Azerbaijan, applying new technologies and offering various tariff packages, products and services to its customers.

As of June 2007, 78% of the Azerbaijan Republic was under Azercell coverage and has a total subscriber base of 2 606 026 .

Azercell Telecom J.V. currently holds 73% of the market share in mobile telecommunications in Azerbaijan

The General director of Azercell Telecom Joint Venture is A. Halim Ates.
